'Angrezi Medium' trailer: Irrfan Khan's back with another heartwarming film

Directed by Homi Adjania, the film will hit screens on March 20

The trailer of Irrfan Khan's much-awaited Angrezi Medium is out. The movie also features Radhika Madan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Deepak Dobriyal, Pankaj Tripathi, Manu Rishi and Ranvir Shorey. The film is a spin-off of the 2017 hit Hindi Medium, which also featured Irrfan Khan.

Directed by Homi Adjania, the film will hit screens on March 20.

Going by the trailer, Angrezi Medium traces a father-daughter bond and a father's journey to fulfil his daughter's bond. The story shifts from a small town into London where Irrfan's daughter, played by Radhika, wants to pursue her higher education. With a pinch of humour, and sentiments, the film follows Irrfan as he struggles to arrange the huge sum of money for her admission.

A few days ago, Maddock Films shared a special message from Irrfan, who shot for the film immediately after undergoing treatment for cancer. He was diagnosed with a rare form of neuroendocrine cancer in 2018, and travelled to London for treatment.

In the touching audio message, Irrfan said: “Hello, brothers and sisters, I am with you and not with you. This film, Angrezi Medium, is very special to me. I truly wanted to promote this film as passionately as we made it, but there are some ‘unwanted guests’ in my body and they’re keeping me busy. I’ll keep you informed on that front.”

Irrfan goes on to say, “One doesn’t have any other choice but to remain positive. Whether you are able to make lemonade in such situations is entirely up to you. We’ve made this film with the same sort of positivity. I hope this film is able to make you laugh and cry in equal measure.”

He added: “Enjoy the trailer, and be kind to each other, and enjoy the film. And yes, wait for me.”
