The trailer of Tom Cruise-starrer Top Gun: Maverick released on Friday. The sequel to the 1986 film, Top Gun, ensures all those elements that were once favourites are in place. Cruise seems to be in his best form, as he reprises his role as a fighter pilot.

The film is bound to trigger nostalgia as captain Peter Maverick, who 'won't retire and refuses to die', gears up for another mission. The shades and his jacket make a comeback in the film. But, having changed with the times, Peter also deals with drone technology in the sequel.
“Aviators are back, the need for speed,” Cruise had earlier told media. “We’re going to have big, fast machines. It’s going to be a competition film, like the first one … but a progression for Maverick.”
Cruise also made a surprise appearance at Paramount Pictures’ Comic-Con panel on Thursday to introduce the trailer.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the movie also features Miles Teller, Val Kilmer, Jennifer Connelly and Ed Harris among others. Kosinski earlier worked with Cruise in Oblivion.
Top Gun: Maverick is set to release on June 26, 2020.
