'Lucifer' sequel announced; Mohanlal to return as Khureshi Ab’raam

Ever since Lucifer was released to glowing reviews from critics and high praise from fans and others, there were rumours that Stephen Nedumbally aka Khureshi Ab’raam would be making an appearance again. Fans wanted more of the mystery man that Khureshi Ab’raam was as they could get only glimpses of the various shades of the man in the Lucifer.

The wishes have come true. To the delight of Mohanlal fans, actor-turned-director Prithviraj announced that Khureshi Ab’raam will return in a sequel to Lucifer, titled Empuraan. The team of Lucifer took to Facebook live to formally announce the movie.

Prithviraj thanked fans and the media for the overwhelming support and reviews Lucifer received and added that they have decided to come up with a sequel owing to the huge success of Lucifer. He further said the squeal won't be just the continuation of the plot in Lucifer, but will also be sort of a prequel to the movie, revealing more about the past of the characters that were shown in Lucifer.

Prithviraj further said the shooting of the movie will begin next year and added that they are yet to finalise the actors.

Talking about the sequel, Murali Gopi, who penned Lucifer, said the first movie was merely a tip of the iceberg. He said he is hopeful that the fans of Lucifer will also like Empuraan.
