As sequels resonate with commercial viability at the box office, Bollywood is crafting movies by spinning tales with a refreshing candour off an existing successfully documented story. The latest one to fall under the spell is Mahesh Bhatt’s 1991 hit romantic thriller Sadak, which starred Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt.
Ever since the announcement of its sequel, the combination of actors starring in the same has raised enough curiosity about the film’s development among their fans. According to the latest reports, Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial Sadak 2 starring Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt, has completed the first leg of the shooting schedule in Mumbai.
Pooja Bhatt, who will also be featured in the sequel announced the completion of the first shooting schedule of the film on her official social media handle. She wrote: “And it's a wrap for our first schedule of Sadak 2. You know you're onto something special when you wake up the morning after with a longing to be back on set. Thank you to the entire crew for everything and more."
Mahesh Bhatt, who was missing from the director ’s chair for two decades, marks his return with Sadak 2. As the film also marks the first collaboration of Alia Bhatt with her father Mahesh Bhatt for his directorial, the former was petrified during the commencement of the film. About the same, Alia had earlier taken to social media to express her feeling by stating, "Today is Day 1 of Sadak 2. And that's my father, now also my director, holding the clap. I begin shoot in a few days and honestly, I'm petrified. I feel like a tiny mouse trying to climb a beautiful, immense, emotional mountain. I hope I make it to the top and if I fall I hope I'm able to get up again. But from everything I've seen and everything I've heard, I know every single step and misstep will be worth it! Here's to movies, family, dreams and starting out on a brand new journey! And what a journey it's going to be."
Sadak 2 will arrive on big screens on July 10, 2020.
