The script of Oru Adaar Love movie was never rewritten, according to actor Priya Varrier.
The 19-year old opened up in an interview with a Malayalam magazine where she revealed that she doesn't have any issues with either the director or any of the co-stars from the movie. “What is being said on social media isn’t true at all. There is no truth in the allegation that my character was given undue importance in the movie after the song 'Manikya Malaraya' Poovi became a hit. Even a week before the song was released, I had clear idea about my role in the movie. Like every other artist, I too was given more screen time after the director got impressed with my performance. Unlike what is said, the script wasn’t rewritten for my sake after the song came out. Noorin wasn’t sidelined in the movie just to give me prominence,” said Priya Varrier.
The actor dismissed the popular belief that Noorin and she were not on talking terms. She emphatically stated that she shared cordial relations with her co-actors. “Noorin was greatly attached to this movie. She had lots of hopes about it. Maybe she was upset realising that she would have to share screen space with me in the movie. Even if she has any issue with me, it must be solely because of this reason. However, I have never tried to rob anyone of their opportunities,” Priya Varrier made her stand clear.
Priya Varrier said she was aware about the various posts and messages that are flooding the social media which criticise her and promote Noorin, post the release of the movie. “Should I say who is behind all these? One can easily understand who does it if we just think about it. Besides, I have no issues with the director as well. The news about us having problems with each other is baseless,” noted Priya Varrier.
Controversies have not spared the movie 'Oru Adaar Love' ever since the release of the superhit song 'Maanikya Malaraya Poovi' last year. While the song grabbed attention for its beautiful composition, it was Priya Varrier who broke the internet with her famous wink and was catapulted to stardom overnight.
Meanwhile, some people had problems with the lyrics. The filmmakers and Priya Varrier were dragged to the court for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. However, the apex court dismissed the case and the filming continued.
Besides, the director of the movie, Omar Lulu, was widely panned for allegedly altering the script to give more prominence to Priya Varrier’s character thereby trying to cash in on the starlet’s newfound fame. When the film finally hit the screens, after keeping the audience waiting for almost a year, it was panned by the critics and a section of the audience as well. The director was quick to change the climax of the movie, which had earned lukewarm response in the theatres at first, to please the audience. Still the movie remained in the limelight as the actors and the makers slammed each other on various television shows and interviews.
Many eyebrows were raised when Priya Varrier put up an online status recently. In her Instagramm story the actress wrote, “Many will be in trouble if I reveal the truth, but why be like them? Just keeping silence as Karma will speak no matter what! And that time is not far.”
As soon as she posted this, the internet went berserk and has been prodding her to reveal the entire truth which may likely kick start fresh rows.
The young actor will next be seen in the Bollywood movie Sridevi Bungalow which too has already kicked up a storm. “The controversies that erupted do not affect me at all. My only concern is to act according to the instructions of the director and the producer. There is no point in creating controversies before the movie releases or anyone watches it,” concluded Priya Varrier.
