Peranbu, starring Mammootty in the leading role, has been the talk of the town as the movie has been screened at various film festivals, including the International Film Festival Rotterdam and Shanghai International Film Festival and had the reviewers heaping lavish praises on it. The fans of the actor, however, were a bit disappointed as there had been no theatrical release of the movie.
It is now learnt that the film will hit theatres in the later half of February. According to media reports, the team behind the movie is working on to release the movie either on February 21 or 28. The Tamil Nadu release right of Peranbu has been reportedly acquired by the distribution house Lightweight.

Directed by Ram of Taramani fame, Peranbu stars Mammooty, Samuthirakani, Anjali and Anjali Ameer in the lead roles. Ram had claimed that the movie would not have been made had Mammooty turned down the script.
Mammooty plays Amudhavan, father of a physically challenged girl in Peranbu. The movie is about the problems Amudhavan faces when his wife leaves them for someone else.
