The first look of Disney's live-action remake of Aladdin was unveiled on Thursday. In the exclusive images that were published in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, Will Smith, Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott appear as Genie, Aladdin and Jasmine respectively.

Fans, however, were upset to see Will Smith's genie not being blue. The actor clarified in a Facebook post that the genie will indeed be blue in most parts of the movie with CGI, and that the one in the pictures is the human form. Twitter wasn't convinced and took to sharing memes and comments.

The film had triggered controversy earlier with the casting being slammed as racist. Disney had faced flak for casting 'white' actors like Naomi Scott as a Middle Eastern character and for 'browning' up white actors. The film is set for release on May 24 next year.
