The teaser of the highly anticipated Kangana Ranaut-starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is out.
The video which begins with a voice over by Amitabh Bachchan gives us a glimpse of the extravagant sets, battle scenes and Kangana's fierce performance as the Rani of Jhansi as she fights the British. From riding a horse to handling a sword perfectly, Kangana promises a powerful performance in the film that is scheduled to release on January 25, 2019.
"I am extremely proud of this film, portraying a character who empowers and inspires. We have put in our heart, blood and sweat into making this film. Manikarnika will make each and every Indian proud. I am quite ecstatic to showcase the teaser to everyone on this special occasion of Gandhi Jayanti,” Kangana said in a statement.
The film had raked up a controversy recently after actor Sonu Sood's exit. The actor had alleged that it was difficult to work with Kangana after she stepped into director Krish's shoes in his absence. Kangana, however, has not been officially declared the film's director. Besides Kangana, Manikarnika also features Ankita Lokhande, Danny Denzongappa, Atul Kulkarni and Zeeshan Ayub among others.
