Ever since the trailer of Love Sonia, directed by Tabrez Noorani was released earlier this week, it has become a talking point for its portrayal of human trafficking. The film follows a 17-year-old girl who puts her life on the line to rescue her sister from a human trafficking network. The struggle takes her through India, Hong Kong and Los Angeles.

The film features a huge star cast—Freida Pinto, Adil Hussain, Anupam Kher, Mark Duplass, Sai Tamhankar Richa Chadha, Freida Pinto, Demi Moore and Rajkummar Rao. Freida Pinto, on Sunday, posted a few Instagram stories on her dress trials for the film. She said that every single piece of clothing was purchased from the shops in Mumbai's red light area. Even the little pieces, including lingerie, was bought from such shops, she wrote.

She also wrote that the director and costume designer wanted to keep it very authentic.

The film is set for India release on September 14 after doing the rounds of international festivals. It was also the opening film at the Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) and was honored with the Best Indie Film award.
