When floods ravaged the state, many celebs including Mammootty, Manju Warrier and Jayasurya took the effort to visit those housed in relief camps and offer solace. And a few even made contributions to the CM relief fund.

An NGO, 'Anbodu Kochi' (With love from Kochi), have launched a hashtag campaign, #DoforKerala, for the flood-hit people, who have been put up in the relief camps across the state. A drive has been launched at the Rajeev Gandhi Sports Centre (RSC) in Kadavanthara to collect essential goods for those affected by the heavy rain and goods that wreaked havoc in the state.

The Tamil film fraternity too has chipped in with contributions. At the 38th executive committee meeting of the Nadigar Sangam on Sunday, it has announced a contribution of Rs 5 lakh the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF).

Earlier, actor Kamal Haasan had contributed Rs 25 lakh to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund in the face of unprecedented oods in the state. Telugu star Allu Arjun pledged Rs 25 lakh for ood victims.

The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) too, donated Rs 10 lakh to the CMDRF a few days ago. Mohanlal had offered Rs 25 lakh to the CM’s fund. Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan together donated Rs 25 lakh.
