Sridevi's elder daughter celebrated her 21st birthday on March 6, a few days after her mother's sudden demise. Though the young star was grappling with the sudden loss, the Kapoor family stood by her to make her birthday special.
The internet, however, doesn't seem to be too happy with the birthday pictures in which Janhvi is smiling with other Kapoor girls—Khushi, Sonam, Rhea, Shanaya, Jahaan and Anshula. “Agree that one should move on in life but here how can this girls enjoy within few days of their mother’s death and that too it’s a sudden death,” read one of the comments on a picture posted by Anshula Kapoor (daughter of Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie). “So let’s wait for your mother to die and let’s see if you celebrate your birthday in 5 days with tons of cake around you,” read another comment on Sonam's Instagram.
Despite the avalanche of trolls, there were many who came to Janhvi's rescue and supported her and the family's decision to be happy. Mourning and crying is not the only way to miss someone, a user commented. Others cheered the Kapoor cousins for helping Janhvi smile again.
