Uber on Friday added bus rides to its Intercity segment under a new partnership with travel ticketing giant ixigo's AbhiBus.
Intercity Bus, which begins globally from Indian markets, enables riders to plan and book long-distance bus journeys within the Uber application.
The new segment, which can be accessed on Friday itself, begins with an introductory 25 per cent discount (up to Rs 200) on the first Uber Intercity Bus ride, and a 10 per cent discount (up to Rs 100) on the next three rides.

The rideshare giant said in a statement that Intercity Bus comes with platform-level safety features, including real-time location sharing, a 24x7 safety helpline, and dedicated trip support.
Intercity Bus now becomes the latest addition to the brand's extensive Intercity portfolio, after the launch of the limited-period Uber Intercity Motorhomes—a premium long-distance travel option—and the expansion of the segment itself by over 3,000 routes across the country last year.
"We see strong momentum for digital, trusted platforms to play a much bigger role" in reimagining how people plan and experience long-distance, inter-city journeys, said Prabhjeet Singh, President, Uber India and South Asia.
"This collaboration combines AbhiBus’s strong supply network and deep expertise in bus ticketing with Uber’s scale and platform experience," noted AbhiBus COO Rohit Sharma.
