Atlantic Watches upbeat about Indian market; plans to expand to South after Mumbai, Ahmedabad

Swiss watchmaker Atlantic Watches is upbeat about the Indian market and hopes to do well here in the near future. The company aims to cash in on the demand from the age group of 25 to 45 and plans to introduce its watches targeted at the mid-segment range in the country.

The company has already forayed into the Mumbai and the Ahmedabad region and intends to venture into the South gradually.

The majority of Atlantic Watches are in the price range of Rs 30,000 to Rs 1.2 lakh, but there are a few solid gold pieces, which will be priced up to Rs 5 lakh per piece.

“Across the globe, we have strong collaborations with local partners who help us make inroads into those markets. Globally, we have been very successful in Poland in Eastern Europe which is our largest market, followed by Romania and other East European countries. We have started in Japan and Vietnam and now we are aiming to make inroads into the Indian market. Indian market presents us with a huge potential as Indians have a strong affinity for automatic and mechanical watches,” said Fredi Bickle, MD and CEO of Atlantic Watches.

The company has tied up with Just in Time for the Mumbai and the Ahmedabad regions. Just in Time also has a retail presence in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad and Atlantic Watches aims to capitalise on their partner's presence to expand in the South. The company has also tied up with Tata CLiQ to sell in India.

Very recently, the company unveiled its World Master Pointer Date Rose Gold PVD watch which introduces an innovative date function—a first for Atlantic. Unlike conventional date displays, the Pointer Date features an additional hand with a red tip that moves around the dial, pointing to the date set along the edge of the watch face. This distinctive function enhances readability and adds a touch of sophistication to timekeeping. At the core of this lies the Sellita SW221-1 an automatic movement.

The watch is encased in a 40mm stainless steel case with Rose Gold PVD 5N. It features a transparent caseback, offering a glimpse into the intricate mechanics. The black dial has big luminous numerals, rose gold-framed hands with Super-LumiNova, and a pointer date hand with a red tip, adding both functionality and elegance.

A sapphire crystal with an anti-reflection coating enhances durability and readability, while the genuine calf leather strap ensures a refined finish to this water-resistant watch.
