Hyundai India announces Creta EV price

Hyundai’s India arm, fresh off of the IPO in the stock market, is ready to give market leader in EVs, Tata Motors, a run for its money with the price announcement of the new Creta EV on Friday. The Hyundai Creta EV will be available in India from Rs 17.99 lakh for its base Executive variant.

The Smart variant is priced at Rs 18.999 lakh, while the Smart (o) variant will cost Rs 19.499 lakh. Hyundai priced the Premium variant at Rs 19.999 lakh, the company said.

As the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Show 2025 kicked off on Friday in Delhi, major auto brands have rushed to the stage to offer the latest in EV mobility. Maruti Suzuki was not to be outdone, as it launched the eVitara at the event.

Hyundai joined Maruti Suzuki to aim for the race, where both Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra enjoy a head start, especially in the non-luxury EV segment.

Last week, Hyundai India COO Tarun Garg commented on how India had a long way to go in EV adoption, given that the current rate stood at less than 2.5 per cent.

He said that 2025 would be a major year for the electric movement in India, even projecting a 17 per cent EV penetration by 2030.

Garg’s prediction that major brands would launch “strong products” by 2026 is already being realised with new launches across the market.
