Table Space CEO Amit Banerji passes away, here's what we know so far

A former Accenture employee, Bengaluru-based Amit Banerji made Table Space a reality with Karan Chopra in 2017

Table Space co-founder, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) Amit Banerji passed away, the company said on Monday. The immediate cause of his death remains unknown, while some media reports said that he had a heart attack. He was 44.

According to reports, before launching Table Space in 2017 with Karan Chopra, Banerji was part of IT major Accenture for more than 13 years. While quitting, he was the managing director of corporate real estate in India, the report said. 

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Amit Banerji, our Founder, Chairman, and CEO. Amit was a visionary leader who transformed the flexible workspace solution industry in India, Amit's leadership built Table Space into what it is today,” Table Space said in a statement.

His impact on the company, its people and the industry will be lasting, and he will be profoundly missed by his family, friends and partners. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family during this difficult time,” it added.

A Punjab Technical University alumnus, Amit Banerji did his BTech in Computer Science before kick-starting his career with Accenture in January 2004, Money Control said in a report.

Bengaluru-based Amit Banerji built Table Space with six other co-founders, namely vice-chairman Karana Chopra, president Kunal Mehra, chief strategy officer Srinivas Prasad, COO and Table Space Services CEO Krishnaswamy Nagarajan, Table Space Constructions CEO Anurag Tyagi, chief sales officer Nitish Bhasin, and executive director sales Anamika Gupta. He was an expert when it came to the matter associated with business planning, asset management, real estate economics and negotiations among others, VCircle said in a report.
