After the news of Ratan Tata's demise broke, Google CEO Sundar Pichai was among the long list of many celibrities and other eminent personalities and to condole his passing.
Sundar Pichai on Wednesday night rememebered Ratan Tata as a personality who "deeply cared about making India better." The Google CEO began his note on X (formerly Twitter) by recollecting his last meeting with the late business icon.

Waymo LLC, formerly known as the Google Self-Driving Car Project, is a company that develops autonomous driving technology and offers robot taxi services in multiple cities. Headquartered in Mountain View, California, the 2009-founded company has partnerships with multiple vehicle manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo.
Expressing his grief in the passing of the legendary industrialist, Pichair added, " He deeply cared about making India better. Deep condolences to his loved ones and Rest in Peace Shri Ratan Tata Ji."
Ratan Tata passes away aged 86
Ratan Tata, who was the Tata Group's chairman emeritus and veteran industrialist, died at a Mumbai hospital late on Wednesday night. A recipient of Padma Vibhushan, he breathed his last at south Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital where he was undergoing treatment for the past few days.
In a statement, Tata's family said,"We his brothers, sisters, and family take solace and comfort in the outpouring of love and respect from all who admired him. While he is no longer with us in person, his legacy of humility, generosity and purpose will continue to inspire future generations."
In a statement, Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran said, "It is with a profound sense of loss that we bid farewell to Ratan Naval Tata, a truly uncommon leader whose immeasurable contributions have shaped not only the Tata Group but also the very fabric of our nation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a post on social media platform X, condoled the death of Tata saying he was "extremely pained by his passing away".
"Shri Ratan Tata Ji was a visionary business leader, a compassionate soul and an extraordinary human being. He provided stable leadership to one of India's oldest and most prestigious business houses," the PM said.
