What is Notes on Zerodha Kite? How to use the feature and how it will help users

The feature is available under the marketwatch section

Zerodha - 1

Zerodha has introduced a new feature called Notes on its Kite web. The feature will help users list a reason for adding an instrument to the marketwatch. It will be available on Kite app soon.

According to Zerodha, with the new feature, users can provide context for the instruments being tracked, so that they can check the notes later to find out why they had added the instrument.

Introducing the new feature, Zerodha posted on X, "At any given point in time, you may be tracking multiple stocks for different reasons. Even if you add the stocks on your marketwatch, it's hard to remember all the reasons why you added them. Now, you can easily add a quick note about why you are interested in a stock right in your marketwatch."

How to add a note to an instrument?

  • Step 1: Go to marketwatch
  • Step 2: Click on the ellipsis symbol (...)
  • Step 3: Choose Notes option
  • Step 4: List the reason for adding the instrument
  • Step 5: Click on the tick mark (✓)

How to hide notes from marketwatch?

  • Step 1: Go to Settings
  • Step 2: Unselect Show Notes

Things to remember

  • If you close the note without saving them, the changes will not be reflected.
  • If you remove an instrument from marketwatch, the note provided will also get deleted.
  • The maximum limit that can be typed in Notes is 512 characters.
