Mcap tracker: TCS, Hindustan Unilever only laggards among Top 10; LIC biggest gainer

Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank also gained in valuation

Tata Consultancy Services and Hindustan Unilever were the only companies among the Top 10 most valued firms in the country that saw their market cap eroding last week. Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and Reliance Industries gained the most.

Eight of the Top 10 companies added Rs 1,47,935.19 crore in market valuation last week, with the BSE benchmark rising 1.84 per cent. It should be noted that both NSE and BSE held a special trading session on Saturday to monitor preparedness in case of potential disruptions or failures at the primary site in the future.

The valuation of LIC gained Rs 40,163.73 crore in market capitalisation last week to reach Rs 6,16,212.90 crore while Reliance Industries surged Rs 36,467.26 crore, taking its valuation to Rs 19,41,110.70 crore.

Other Top 10 companies gaining in market cap include Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Infosys, ITC and SBI.

Bharti Airtel saw its market valuation leap by Rs 26,492.61 crore to touch Rs 7,64,917.29 crore, while HDFC Bank mcap soared to Rs 11,14,163.29 crore after rallying by Rs 21,136.71 crore and the valuation of ICICI Bank jumped Rs 9,570.68 crore to Rs 7,94,404.51 crore.

Infosys surged Rs 7,815.51 crore to Rs 5,99,376.39 crore, ITC rallied Rs 4,057.54 crore to Rs 5,44,895.67 crore and SBI zoomed Rs 2,231.15 crore to Rs 7,32,576.77 crore.

TCS plunged by Rs 16,588.94 crore in valuation to Rs 13,92,963.69 crore while Hindustan Unilever mcap slumped to Rs 5,46,843.87 crore, after losing Rs 6,978.29 crore.

In terms of market capitalisation, Reliance retained its position as the most valued, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, SBI, LIC, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever and ITC.
