Anita Goyal, the wife of Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal, passed away on Thursday morning. She had been battling cancer for some time.
Her health condition worsened over the past few months.
According to a Times of India report, Anita Goyal passed away around 3 am on Thursday.
She is survived by her husband and two children.
The funeral is expected to be held in Mumbai on Thursday.
Naresh Goyal, who has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case, was granted bail on humanitarian grounds to be with his ailing wife.
His lawyers had told the Bombay High Court that Anita Goyal had only months to live and he wished to be by her side in her last days.
Naresh Goyal too is undergoing treatment for cancer.
Goyal was arrested by the ED in September 2023 on allegations that he had laundered money and siphoned off loans to the tune of Rs 538.62 crore given to Jet Airways by the Canara Bank.
His wife was arrested in November 2023 when the ED submitted its chargesheet in the case.
She was granted bail by the special court the same day considering her age and medical condition.
