IT behemoth Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) extended the deadline to end work from home, even as it issued a final warning to its employees asking them to start resuming work from the office.

The deadline to return to office has been extended till the end of March. The IT major warned action against those refusing to work from office after the end of the deadline.

Chief operating officer N.G. Subramaniam told Economic Times that while the company has shown patience it believes that it is important for its employees to get back to office.

He confirmed that a final communication in this regard has been sent to the employees.

“We are exercising patience but have taken a principled stand that employees have to get back to offices. We have sent employees the final communication on this and if they do not, there will be consequences to face," Subramaniam was quoted as saying to Economic Times.

Citing increased instances of cyberattacks, Subramaniam observed that working from home makes employees vulnerable to such attacks.

"With the kind of cyberattacks in today's context, an organisation can inadvertently get into trouble. One cannot have the kind of controls at home and there can be security risks to businesses," he has been quoted as saying.
