Tesla is expected to set up a manufacturing unit in Gujarat and the conglomerate is likely to make the announcement regarding this in the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit in January 2024.
According to a report in Ahmedabad Mirror, the state government has given the Elon Musk-led company three choices—Sanand, Becharaji or Dholera—to set up the plant.
Tesla is yet to make an official statement in this regard.
Meanwhile, news agency ANI quoted Gujarat minister Rushikesh Patel as saying that Musk has his eyes set on Gujarat. "Let us hope that he comes to Gujarat and sets up (projects) here just like Tata, Ford etc... The government and people will welcome this," he said.
According to media reports, the government's spokesperson Rushikesh Patel Patel had recently expressed confidence in Musk considering the state the right place for investment.
