After days of taking over Twitter, Elon Musk on Sunday tweeted that the user verification process of the social media platform will be revised.
"The whole verification process is being revamped right now," tweeted Musk.
According to reports, Twitter is considering charging users for the blue ticks verifying the account holder. Users would have to subscribe to Twitter Blue at $4.99 a month or lose their 'verified' badges if the project moves forward, reported Reuters.
Though a final decision on the matter is not yet taken, it is reported that the verification process will become a part of Twitter Blue.
Twitter Blue was launched in June last year as the platform's first subscription service which offers "exclusive access to premium features" on monthly subscription basis including a feature to edit tweets, reported Reuters.
After taking over Twitter, each day changes are being announced by the billionaire. After conducting a Twitter poll on making available an edit option for posts in April, the feature was made available earlier this month. The majority of users, who took part in the polls chose an edit option.
Meanwhile on Sunday Musk refuted the reports of laying off staff to avoid paycuts.
On Saturday media reports said that Musk has ordered job cuts across the company, with some teams to be trimmed more than others and that layoffs would take place November 1, when employees were scheduled to receive stock grants as part of their compensation. Musk has tweeted, "This is false," to such reports.
