The National Stock Exchange (NSE) scam case gets interesting by the day as new details emerge. According to reports, Chitra Ramakrishna had sold a house worth Rs 3.2 crore in one of Chennai's high-profile locations to Anand Subramanian's wife Sunitha. Anand, former Group Operating Officer (GOO) of NSE, was arrested by the CBI over alleged irregularities while Chitra was CEO.

Quoting a source, The New Indian Express reported that Anand was staying in the house since 2012 along with his family. This could indicate Chitra and Anand knew each other before his NSE tenure. Anand had been hired by Chitra in 2013, purportedly on the advice of her spiritual guru, who she claimed was a yogi living in the Himalayas.

Chitra, who succeeded former CEO Ravi Narain in 2013, had appointed Anand as her advisor who was later elevated as GOO at a fat pay cheque of Rs 4.21 crore.

Anand's controversial appointment and later elevation besides crucial decisions were guided by an unidentified person who Chitra claimed was a formless mysterious Yogi dwelling in Himalayas, a probe into Chitra's email exchanges during the Sebi-ordered audit showed.

After his arrest in Chennai last week, Anand was taken to Delhi and was sent to CBI custody till March 6.
