When it comes to diversification, dairy giant Amul seems to be unstoppable. After introducing immunity boosters in milk and ice-creams during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it has now diversified into carbonated drinks.

Called TRU Seltzer, it is currently available in two flavours—lemon and orange. According to a company spokesperson, a 200 ml pet bottle costs only Rs 15.

One of the USPs of the product is that it contains milk solids, which otherwise no beverage in India has it so far. AMUL also claimed that the seltzer will have less percentage of added sugar in both the drinks as compared to its competitors.

Amul TRU Seltzer is a combination of finest blends of dairy, fruits and fizz, the spokesperson said. During research, Amul found that seltzer, which originated 300 years ago, was never explored in India.

Variants in cola, jeera, apple—all made from real fruits—will also be available soon, both in pet bottles and cans.
