ICICI Bank on Monday launched WhatsApp banking services to help its customers fulfill an array of banking requirements from homes during the ongoing coronavirus lockdown. “The facility is available 24x7, securely with end-to-end encryption,” the lender said in a tweet on Monday.
The service enables customers to access a host of banking services within a few clicks. Currently, the services available include checking account balance, information of the last three transactions, credit card limit, blocking and unblocking credit/debit cards anytime, details on pre-approved loans, track deliverables such as debit/credit cards, and nearby offers available for ICICI Bank customers.
For instance, to check account balance, all a customer needs to do is type any keywords like <balance>, <bal>, <ac bal>, etc.
Non-customers can utilise the service to get details of the nearest three ICICI Bank ATMs and branches in their vicinity. All the services offered via WhatsApp banking are devoid of any additional charges, the bank informed.
