Mercedes-Benz launched the V-Class Marco Polo in the luxury multi purpose vehicle segment at the Auto Expo in Noida on Thursday. The luxury camping vehicle, which has a kitchen and bench seats that can be transformed into a bed, is priced at Rs 1.46 crore.

The Marco Polo comes in a second variants, the Marco Polo Horizon, which is priced at ₹ 1.38 crore. It has been touted as the country's first-ever commercially produced luxury camper, offering a variety of features. The booking for the Marco Polo will start from today.

“The V-Class and V-Class Elite pioneered the luxury MPV segment in India and have witnessed much success ever since their launch,” Mercedes-Benz India MD & CEO Martin Schwenk said at the launch.

The cabin of the Marco Polo is capable of transforming into a compact living space complete with a kitchen, an integral refrigerator, retractable table, sink, roof tents along with the aforementioned bench seat that can be turned into a bed, accommodating up to four people to sleep.

The four seats in the Marco Polo can be extended to six seats with more than enough storage capacity along with tanks to store fresh water and collect waste water.

The Marco Polo comes with a BS-VI compliant 2.2 litre four-cylinder diesel engine, delivering 161 bhp and 380 Nm torque with a 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox.
