The Gujarat facility combines high-capacity production systems, automated material handling, and resource-recovery infrastructure to support evolving vitrified-tile design requirements.

MALIYA, Gujarat, India, 14th October 2026: Simpolo Tiles & Bathware’s Maliya plant brings together advanced production machinery, automated logistics and resource management systems across an approximately 118-acre site. Backed by a ₹770 crore investment, the facility has a Phase 1 production capacity of 45,000 square metres per day. Its infrastructure reflects the growing role of automation, process efficiency and resource management in tile manufacturing.

The plant’s capabilities meet the changing requirements of the vitrified tiles market, where product performance, surface finishes, formats, and tile design support residential and commercial projects. Simpolo Tiles & Bathware’s wider portfolio includes collections such as Alchimia, Basaltino, Glyphstone, Marmorica, Sparko and Venitto, offering different visual styles, colours, textures and finishes.

Advanced Manufacturing Infrastructure at the Maliya Plant

The Maliya facility incorporates specialised machinery and production systems designed to support high-volume manufacturing.

High-Capacity Pressing and Milling Systems

The plant features two SACMI Continua+ PCR 2180 presses, with Phase 1 output capacity of 45,000 square metres per day. It also houses an S-module Continuous Modular Milling System with a processing capacity of 1,200 metric tonnes per day. The installation is reported as India’s first system of this type.

Another key component is the 4,350 mm S-Layer Horizontal Dryer. Together, these systems form part of the plant’s production infrastructure and support the processing stages required for tile manufacturing.

The facility also incorporates digital printing systems, Industry 4.0 technologies, research and development facilities, and quality laboratories. These capabilities support process monitoring, product development, and quality assessment across manufacturing operations.

Automated Packing and Material Handling

Works with TecnoFerrari, which provides automated robotic material handling, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and smart vertical storage systems. The plant has an automated packing capacity of up to 43,000 square metres per day.

These technologies support material movement, handling, and storage within the facility. Integrating automation across packing and internal logistics can help coordinate production with downstream handling requirements.

Manufacturing Capabilities Supporting Vitrified Tiles

Vitrified tiles serve a range of residential and commercial applications, from living rooms and kitchens to offices and retail spaces. Selection often depends on the required size, surface finish, appearance, and functional performance.

Surface Finishes and Tiles Design

Simpolo Tiles & Bathware’s collections showcase a diverse range of tiles design for different interior styles. Alchimia draws on the visual character of natural materials, while Basaltino takes inspiration from basalt stone. Glyphstone references petroglyphs, and Marmorica brings marble-inspired tile designs into interior spaces. Sparko offers a radiant aesthetic, while Venitto draws on Venetian terrazzo, adding distinctive patterns and textures to tiled surfaces.

The company also offers a range of surface technologies and finishes. Its Posh+ surface, available in collections including Alchimia, Venitto and Sparko, is described on its website as offering enhanced abrasion resistance, slip and scratch resistance with ease of cleaning. These are product-specific features and should be considered alongside the intended application and relevant product specifications.

Quality Checks and Product Development

The Maliya plant's infrastructure includes research and development facilities and quality laboratories. These facilities help evaluate product characteristics and support manufacturing consistency. For tile projects, such considerations work alongside design choices, including colour, texture, format and finish.

Resource Efficiency Across Plant Operations

The plant’s operating systems also incorporate measures intended to manage energy and water use and reduce process waste.

Waste-Heat Recovery and Water Recycling

A waste-heat recovery system captures exhaust heat from kilns and redirects it into the production workflow. This approach uses heat generated during manufacturing rather than letting it go unused.

The facility also follows a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) approach, with the supplied plant information reporting 100% wastewater recycling. The plant filters process water and reuses it within operations, supporting a closed-loop approach to water management.

Renewable Energy and Electric Vehicles

The plant has two windmills, and regional solar and wind energy grids support its power requirements. The supplied plant brief also states that the facility uses electric vehicles for internal movement. Its coal-free operations and use of 100% electric vehicles for internal movement also reflect a focus on resource efficiency and lower-emission plant operations.

Together, these measures form part of the plant’s resource management approach. Their overall environmental impact depends on operating conditions, energy consumption, and individual systems' performance over time.

Supporting Evolving Project Requirements

Manufacturing infrastructure, product development, and resource management each shape how tile facilities respond to market requirements. At Maliya, production machinery, automated material handling and quality laboratories sit alongside systems for heat recovery and wastewater recycling.

For Simpolo Tiles & Bathware, these capabilities provide the operational foundation for its wider tiles portfolio. As architects, interior designers, builders and homeowners consider both aesthetics and practical requirements, manufacturing processes remain important to delivering products suited to varied spaces and applications.
