In a historical development, one of the leading private universities of Bengaluru, REVA has taken a significant step towards introducing multidisciplinary studies by launching a B.Tech program in Bioelectronics Engineering on March 11, 2020. This program is a first of its kind in India and REVA University is creating history by starting it under the school of Multidisciplinary Studies. To make it multidisciplinary and industry relevant, REVA University has entered into multiple MoUs with industries in the field of Medicine (ONNSA), Engineering (CENTUM), and agriculture (Humus).

The program was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr N.K. Venkataramana, founder chairman and chief neurosurgeon, Brains Neuro Spine Hospital, Bengaluru. Mr Apparao Mallavarapu (Rao), chairman and managing director, Centum group of companies, Bengaluru was the guest of honor. The special guest for the event was Manjunatha T. N., managing director, Humus (Agri-Fresh produce supply chain). Dr P. Shyama Raju, chancellor REVA University, presided over the function along with the vice-chancellor of REVA University, Dr S.Y. Kulkarni, registrar, REVA University Dr M. Dhanamjaya and Director, School of Arts and Humanities, REVA University Dr Beena G., who graced the occasion.

Dr Dhanamjaya delivered the welcome address and spoke about the chancellor’s life journey and how he started his life as a raj-mistri and became a multi-faceted personality of REVA University which shows his endless dedication, passion and determination to achieve goals. He also praised Dr Raju for the multiple roles he plays at the University.

Dr Venkataramana then came on stage to release the book of chancellor Raju. He said that Dr Raju is an example of patience and determination who wrote his fate on his own and succeeded in life. He also spoke about the multidisciplinary learning which will open spheres for the students and help students in maintaining discipline in their lives. It is important for the student to learn the ethics of science.

Guest of honor, Apparao Mallavarapu (Rao), chairman and managing director, Centum group of companies, Bangalore spoke about the importance of education. After the inspiring speech of the guest of honor, the stage was taken over by the special guest of the event, Manjunatha T.N., managing director of Humus, who shared his experience from his college days where he learned values that were useful for a lifetime.

Dr Raju gave the presidential speech and spoke about the benefits reaped by students, asking the faculty to play responsible roles in bringing one programme every year under multidisciplinary learning.
