Though the Aam Admi Party and the Congress are targetting Arun Jaitley over the alleged scam in the Delhi and District Cricket Association, the finance minister seems to be getting support from a slew of leading cricketers in the country.

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly threw his weight behind Jaitley on Tuesday saying only a proper investigation can reveal what was wrong with the DDCA.

"People can say anything, but let there be proper investigations. That should tell you the truth. Not everything needs to be seen like a controversy," Ganguly said.

Ganguly's comments came just days after Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli came in support of Jaitley and praising his good work as the president of DDCA.

Other cricketers like Ishant Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan and veteran batsman Mithun Manhas also had come in defence of Jaitley.

The finance minister has been under attack from the AAP over the alleged irregularities and financial bunglings in DDCA of which he had been the president for about 13 years till 2013.
