  • A selfie lover’s device, the Gionee S6s doesn’t compromise on other phone specifications

If you are a selfie queen or king your needs from a smart phone are simple: a device with best front camera features. These days there are quite a few options available in the market for camera centric devices, the recent one being Gionee’s S6s—the ‘s’ stands for selfie.

Touted as a ‘selfie with flash’ device, it sports an 8 megapixels front camera with High CRI (color rendering index) front flash plus a screen flash, which lights up the screen for low lit photography. The front camera also comes with few editing tools like real-time filters and the Face Beauty 2.0 technology. Unlike few other selfie centric devices, Gionee has maintained higher resolution for its primary camera. The 13 megapixels rear camera is a decent performer with SONY IMX258 sensor, f2.0 aperture, HDR mode and LED flash.

A useful feature is its fingerprint scanner, which also lets you click pictures with just one tap on it. Though this is a convenient way to click selfies. It terms of setting up, the fingerprint scanner was easy as well as quick to set-up.

Design-wise this device looks and feels stylish and light. Built using a unibody metal with curved body, the S6s comes in two color variant of mocha gold and latte gold. The 5.5 inch device fits snugly in your hands. It comes with FHD display with a 1920x1080 resolution and 2.5D Corning Gorilla glass for screen protection.

The S6s comes with Gionee’s proprietary operating system, Amigo 3.2 that is based on Android Marshmallow 6.0. The device runs a MediaTek 1.3 GHz, Octa Core processor at its heart. It features a 3 GB RAM and a 32 GB internal storage, expandable up to 128 GB. It has dual SIM slot with option for micro as well as nano SIM and supports both 4G and VoLTE. The S6s packs a decent battery of 3150 mAh.

Priced at Rs17,999, Gionee’s S6s is a good looking, selfie-centric device that also offers decent specs. It is now available on Amazon.
