A 26-year-old woman, hailing from Raipur in Chhattisgarh, who was depressed after the suicide of 'Balika Vadhu' actor Pratyusha Banerjee, committed suicide by hanging in front of two-year-old son.
According to media reports, the deceased, identified as Madhu Mahanand, has been following the news of the suicide of the actor closely as she was very fond of the character Anandi, played by Pratyusha.
Her body was found by her husband Nakul Mahanand who had returned home from work and saw the door locked from insider. Although he was detained initially, the police let him go after parents of the deceased told the cops about her daughter's obsession with Anandi.
The couple had got married after months-long love affair.
The police said Nakul informed them that Madhu never missed an episode of the show when it used to be aired on the TV.
