New Delhi, Apr 15 (PTI) The BJP top brass on Wednesday congratulated Samrat Choudhary on taking oath as the chief minister of Bihar, with Amit Shah asserting that the NDA government will work with even more energy towards building a “secure and developed Bihar” under Choudhary’s leadership.
Choudhary was sworn in as the 24th chief minister of Bihar on Wednesday, becoming the first BJP leader to occupy the top post in the state.
He was administered oath by Governor Syed Ata Hasnain at the Lok Bhawan in Patna, in the presence of JD(U) president Nitish Kumar, who gave up the chief minister’s post a day ago after becoming a Rajya Sabha member last week, Union minister J P Nadda, and Chirag Paswan, who heads the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), the third-largest constituent of the ruling NDA in Bihar.
JD(U) leaders Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, who have been designated as deputy chief ministers in the Samrat Choudhary-led government, also took oath on the occasion.
Congratulating Samrat Choudhary, Shah said in a post on X in Hindi, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar, the NDA is serving the people of Bihar day and night with a resolute spirit. I am confident that under your (Choudhary’s) leadership, it will gain even greater momentum.”
At the same time, the NDA's “double-engine” government will work with even more energy towards building a secure and developed Bihar, the Union home minister said, extending his best wishes to Samrat Choudhary for a successful tenure “as the first BJP chief minister of Bihar”.
Terming the new NDA team in Bihar a “confluence of energy and experience”, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said it will not only fulfil the expectations of the people but also take the state’s development to new heights.
“Heartiest congratulations to Shri Samrat Choudhary on taking oath as Chief Minister of Bihar, and to Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, who took oath alongside him as deputy chief ministers,” Singh said in a post on X in Hindi.
“I extend my best wishes to this new team in Bihar for an extremely successful tenure,” he added.
Union minister Nitin Gadkari said Bihar will become even more prosperous and attain new heights of development under the leadership of Samrat Choudhary and the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“I am confident of this,” Gadkari wrote on X.
BJP president Nitin Nabin said he is confident that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Samrat Choudhary will work with “complete dedication” to fulfil the resolve of 'Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Viksit Bihar'.
“Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Samrat Chaudhary on taking the oath as the chief minister of Bihar… Heartfelt best wishes for your illustrious and successful tenure as the first BJP chief minister of Bihar,” Nabin said in a post on X in Hindi.
The BJP president also congratulated Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Vijay Kumar Chaudhary on becoming deputy chief ministers of the state.
