Bhopal, Aug 15 (PTI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday lauded Operation Sindoor under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, saying India taught a lesson to Pakistan in the same language it understands.
Through Operation Sindoor, the world has witnessed the strength and capability of Bharat, he said.
“Be it adopting new technology in warfare or providing the armed forces with the most modern weaponry, our illustrious Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has left no stone unturned,” Yadav said at the state-level function here to celebrate the 79th Independence Day.
He also highlighted the initiatives taken by his government for public welfare in the state.
“We have made it clear to those who cast an evil eye on India's unity and integrity that in whatever language they understand, we will speak in that very language. For the sake of the nation and dharma, we will speak what must be said. A hundred salutations to the brave sons of our country,” he added.
On May 7, India launched Operation Sindoor to target terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan after terrorists killed 26 persons in cold blood in Pahalgam on April 22.
Yadav said that the past 11 years under PM Modi have been very eventful and that the country is now the world's fastest-growing economy.
From the fourth position, the Indian economy will soon reach the third spot, he said.
“The path to 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India) and a developed India will be paved only through dedication to swadeshi (use of indigenous resources and products),” the CM said.
The people of the country need to recognise their strengths and capabilities, he said.
“Today, I am pleased to declare that our Madhya Pradesh is becoming the medium to fulfil the resolve of millions of Indians for the dream we call ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and a developed Bharat,” he said.
Yadav said that the per capita income in MP has risen to Rs 1.52 lakh per annum in 2024-25 from Rs 1.39 lakh.
He said that the state government is hiring one lakh people in government departments, adding that around 2.5 lakh unemployed youth will be recruited in the next 5 years.
The CM said that the infrastructure to boost air connectivity is rapidly growing in MP, and areas under irrigation have risen considerably in MP.
Under the PM SVANidhi (PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi) scheme, more than 8 lakh beneficiaries in the state have been provided loan assistance ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000, Yadav said.
“The PM MITRA Park in Dhar will give a new direction to Madhya Pradesh’s textile industry, from farm to foreign markets,” he added.
Madhya Pradesh has the largest certified organic farming area in the country, and inspired by the PM, efforts are being made to promote natural farming, Yadav said. Crop insurance payments worth Rs 1,383 crore have been released into the accounts of more than 14 lakh farmers in the state, the CM said.
After the Centre brought in the Jan Vishwas Act, Madhya Pradesh passed and notified the ‘Jan Vishwas Bill’ in the state for ease of living and doing business. “MP is the first state in the country to do so,” he said.
“The state ranks first in the country in the implementation of the ‘Swamitva Yojana’ (to establish clear ownership of property in rural inhabited areas),” he said.
The amount given per bovine in cow shelters has been doubled from Rs 20 to Rs 40. Under the ‘Chief Minister Vrindavan Gram Yojana’, villages in MP will be made self-reliant, Yadav said.
As per the ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi’ and the Chief Minister Kisan Kalyan Yojana, a total financial support of Rs 46,700 crore has been provided to farmers over one and a half years, the CM said.
The ‘Madhya Pradesh Krishi Udyog Samagam 2025’ was an initiative to increase farmers' income by linking agriculture with entrepreneurship and promoting modern technologies, he said.
“At present, farmers are being provided permanent electricity connections at Rs 5. The target is to free farmers from electricity bills by providing 32 lakh solar pumps in three years. Ten lakh connections will be given to farmers to ensure 24-hour electricity supply,” he added.
In Mandsaur, 11 industrial units with an investment of Rs 3,812 crore were inaugurated and foundation stones laid, providing employment to 6,850 people. In employment-oriented industries, including textiles, it has been decided to provide a monthly incentive of Rs 5,000 to young women and men, he said.
In 2025-26, sportspersons from MP won 6 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze medals at the international level, and 82 gold, 65 silver and 57 bronze medals at the national level, said Yadav.
“Eleven academies in 18 sports disciplines are being operated as Centres of Excellence in Madhya Pradesh, with 80 per cent of players from the state and 20 per cent from other states, to promote the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’,” Yadav added.
