Netflix unveils teaser for final season of 'Stranger Things'

Mumbai, Jul 16  (PTI) Streaming giant Netflix on Wednesday dropped the first look teaser for the much anticipated fifth and final season of "Stranger Things", which marks the beginning of one last adventure for fans of the massively popular drama.
     Set in the fall of 1987, the teaser shows Hawkins under military quarantine following the fallout from the Upside Down's Rifts. The core team member including Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin, Steve, Robin, Nancy, Jonathan, Joyce and Hopper reunite to track and destroy Vecna, the main antagonist of the show.
     The stakes are higher and more personal with each member of the core team grappling with problems. Eleven has gone back into hiding after the government intensifies its manhunt, while Max remains in a coma with Lucas by her bedside, as the anniversary of Will's disappearance approaches, so does the familiar dread.
     Linda Hamilton debuts as Dr  Kay in the show, where she will play a pivotal role.
     Netflix will roll out Season 5 in three instalments: Volume 1 (episodes 1–4) from November 26, Volume 2 (episodes 5–7) on December 25, and the series finale (episode 8) on December 31.
     Filming on the 8 episode season wrapped in late 2024.
     The cast includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin,Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Jamie Campbell Bower and others.
