Jaipur, May 31 (PTI) BJP President J P Nadda on Saturday credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with changing the political culture of the country in the past decade from one dominated by blame games to one driven by development and performance.
Addressing the Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Women Empowerment Conference here, he said, "The country has changed since 2014. Today, under the leadership of PM Modi, the country of 140 crore people is moving forward at a fast pace."
The Union minister said PM Modi transformed the political culture and introduced "report card" politics focused on accountability, delivery, and growth.
"Earlier, leaders used to spend time blaming each other. But today 'report card' politics is happening. A politics of accountability, performance, development, that is our way of working," he said.
Referring to Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma's appointment to the post, Nadda said, "He is a true ideological soldier who works day and night to take Modi ji's vision to the people. Such a dedicated worker was chosen for the top post."
He also targeted past governments, saying, "You have seen how previous governments functioned and what their mindset was. Everything is in front of the people. When there's a difference between night and day, you should choose day. That is the difference between our government and theirs."
"Our government works for public service, not for self-interest," Nadda added.
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also addressed the event and praised women's leadership across sectors.
"Women are skilled at fulfilling every responsibility, whether it is managing ration or running governance," she said, adding, "Legendary queen Ahilyabai Holkar proved that leadership qualities are innate in women."
Raje said the passage of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, giving 33 per cent reservation to women in Parliament and state legislatures, was a tribute to legendary women like Ahilyabai Holkar.
"Women walk the same road as men but never complain about fatigue. They run households and contribute to society tirelessly. Ahilyabai was a ruler who rebuilt temples from Badrinath to Rameswaram and Dwarka to Puri, including the Kashi Vishwanath temple," she said.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, BJP state president Madan Rathore, and Union Ministers Bhagirath Chaudhary and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat were also present in the programme.
Later in the day, Nadda took part in a Tiranga Yatra in Jaipur organised by the BJP to celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor.
