Karachi, May 12 (PTI) Karachi police chief on Tuesday suspended officials and ordered a high-level enquiry after a suspected female drug dealer was awarded VIP treatment during a court appearance, resulting in social media backlash. 
    Anmol alias Pinky, a suspected drug dealer, was seen smiling and walking ahead of policemen without any handcuffs while appearing in a Karachi court for remand.
    The video of the incident, which was run on electronic and digital media, shows the drug dealer sharing jokes with the policemen and talking on the phone while entering the court.
    Karachi police chief, Azad Khan, issued a statement after the video garnered attention on social media and led to a severe backlash.
    According to the statement, a high-level inquiry would be carried out into the incident, and the police officials of the Garden police had been suspended.
    Pinky was arrested early this morning in Karachi, and police recovered cocaine and other drugs valued at millions of rupees and a revolver from her possession.
    She has been suspected for years of being part of an international drug cartel and running a drug business and illegal arms trade in Karachi.
    Pinky was sent on judicial remand by the Karachi court.
