New Delhi, Nov 5 (PTI) Maruti Suzuki said it signed a memorandum of agreement with the Telangana transport department to set up 12 automated driving licence test tracks at six locations.
The testing tracks will be set up at Ibrahimpatnam and Kondapur in Ranga Reddy district, Uppal, Medchal and Nagole in Medchal district and Karimnagar, the company said in a statement.
Maruti Suzuki said the track will have high-definition cameras, RFID sensors, real-time analytics, and an integrated IT system to enable fully computerised, rule-based testing, in compliance with Central Motor Vehicle Rules.
The company is setting up the testing tracks under its CSR initiative. With this, Maruti Suzuki will have set up over 98 such test tracks across nine states and two union territories in India.
The automaker has also set up eight Institutes of Driving and Traffic Research and 19 Road Safety Knowledge Centres in collaboration with various state governments to equip drivers with essential driving knowledge and skills.
