Four Indian students were among at least six people injured in a knife attack at a university in Ufa, located in Russia’s Bashkortostan Republic.
Reports indicate that a teenager armed with a knife entered the dormitory of the State Medical University and launched an attack on the students residing there, stabbing several of them.
"An unfortunate incident of attack has occurred in Ufa. Several persons, including four Indian students, have been injured," the Indian Embassy in Moscow confirmed in a post on X.
The embassy added that they are in contact with local authorities, and officials from the Consulate in Kazan are en route to Ufa to assist the injured students.

Maj. Gen. Irina Volk, spokesperson for Russia's Interior Ministry, stated that two police officers were also wounded during the attack when the 15-year-old assailant attempted to resist arrest.
According to Russia’s Federal Health Ministry, one of the injured is in critical condition, while three others are in moderate condition.
The attacker, reportedly a member of a banned neo-Nazi group, was also hospitalized in serious condition.
Media outlets, citing sources, stated that during the attack, he shouted nationalist slogans related to the Holocaust. The Baza channel even shared an image of a swastika, drawn in the victims' blood, found on a dormitory wall.
