'What's purpose of UN?': Trump blasts global body, takes credit for ending 7 'unendable' wars including India-Pak conflict

Despite strong rebuttals from India, US President Donald Trump claimed at the United Nations General Assembly that he resolved the India-Pakistan conflict in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor. I ended seven raging wars within seven months in office, including the India-Pakistan conflict, US President Donald Trump claimed. "Sadly, the United Nations did not offer any help," the US president claimed. 

Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, the US president claimed he ended seven wars within seven months in office during his second term. Claiming he even ended wars that had been raging for over 30 years, Trump said he did what the UN should have done. 

"Too bad that I had to do these things instead of the UN doing them. The UN did not even try to help in any of them. I got only two things from the UN: a bad escalator and a teleprompter that didn't work; Thank you very much," Trump said. 

Saying the UN wasn't there during any stages of negotiations, Trump asked what was the purpose of the UN. "UN has such tremendous potential, but it is not even coming close," he added. "Everyone says I should get the Nobel Peace Prize for solving each of these (conflicts)," said the US president.

Trump's assertion about resolving the India-Pakistan conflict comes despite India strongly denying any third-nation involvement in the ceasefire talks. India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 to avenge the killings of 26 people in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam in April this year.

After three days of heightened military operations, both nations agreed to stop firing on May 10. While India maintains that the talks were bilateral, US President Trump has been claiming credit for stopping the conflict.
