U.S. President Donald Trump made a cryptic post on Friday, saying that he has lost India and Russia to ‘Dark China’

The remark comes just days after the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation SCO meeting that took place in Tianjin.

In the post, Trump shared an image of the three leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, walking out together.

“Looks like we’ve lost India and Russia to deepest, darkest China. May they have a long and prosperous future together! President Donald J. Trump, “ he wrote on his Truth Social account.

The statement comes as a turn around from his earlier stance, where he dismissed claims that said that there would be an anti-US axis forming due to the tariffs. Earlier, he had stated, “I am not concerned at all… We have the strongest military in the world, by far. They would never use their military on us. Believe me,” he said.

Trump has been pressuring all his trade partners, especially India, where he imposed a maximum of 50 per cent trade tax. The tariff, he says, is a penalty for buying russian oil amid the war in Ukraine.

At the SCO summit in China, the three leaders shared a stage and stood upto what China called “bullying’ from the US. The countries seemed to signal that the will not accoet US tactics and threats to make them comply . The Indian government said that it won’t bow to the US pressure and will act it the countries interest.

In response to the comment, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, who was speaking to the press at the time, said, "I have no comments to offer on this post at this time."
