The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Manjot Singh, a 25-year-old Indian man, for his multiple crime records in Seattle this week. The ICE has said that Sigh will be deported, and his removal proceedings are underway.
Singh was arrested earlier this month in a joint operation involving the ICE enforcement and removal Operations, Seattle, Homeland Security Investigations Seattle and the US Border Patrol’s Blaine Sector. A video posted by the ICE Seattle shows Singh looking confused.

Singh was initially held at Whatcom County Jail and later transferred to federal custody.
Singh has been arrested at least six times before by law enforcement. The list of his charges includes charges of robbery, theft, assault, criminal impersonation and driving under the influence (DUI). The ICE also criticised “liberal sanctuary policies” for allowing Singh to remain in the country despite his criminal record.
Chief Patrol Agent, US Border Patrol, Blaine Sector, Washington, Rosario Pete Vasquez made a post on social media saying that Singh was living in the US illegally. The ICE also said that Manjot entered the country illegally; however, it did not provide details as to when and how he did that.

The ICE and Border Patrol officials' arrest of Singh signals the country's emphasis on deporting anyone who violates the country’s laws.
It is also not the first time Indian nationals have been faced with arrest and deportation as part of the Trump administration’s efforts to crack down on illegal immigration and enforcement efforts. Other cases include Gurjeet Singh Malhi, who was arrested for possessing child pornography and Jaspal Singh for assault with sexual motivation.
More than 1000 Indian nationals have been deported from the US, according to the foreign ministry. The US has said that it has identified at least 18,000 Indian nationals it believes to have entered the country illegally, a Bloomberg report said in early January.
