Daibai, a 99-year-old from India, has begun an extraordinary new chapter in her life following the approval of her US citizenship. The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), while making the announcement, described her as a "lively" individual.
USCIS posted a picture of Daibai sitting in a wheelchair along with her daughter, while she was handed over the certificate.
"They say age is just a number. That seems true for this lively 99-year-old who became a #NewUSCitizen in our Orlando office. Daibai is from India and was excited to take the Oath of Allegiance. She's pictured with her daughter and our officer who swore her in. Congrats Daibai!" USCIS posted on X.
