With the death toll rising to 137, the terror attack on a Moscow concert hall is one of the deadliest massacres in recent Russian history. President Vladimir Putin was quick to blame Ukraine for the attack, even after ISIS-K claimed responsibility for the attack.

"They tried to escape and were travelling towards Ukraine, where, according to preliminary data, a window was prepared for them on the Ukrainian side to cross the state border," he said in an address to the nation.

Russian intelligence agency Federal Security Service (FSB) on Saturday said the Moscow attackers had contacts on the Ukrainian side and were heading to Russia's Ukrainian border.

Moscow has also accused Washington of withholding information about the involvement of Kyiv in the attack.

Moscow is yet to make public any evidence of a Kyic connection in the attack.

Slamming Putin's claims, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a video said, "It's obvious that Putin is trying to shift responsibility onto someones else. Instead of addressing concerns of Russian citizens, Putin was silent for the whole day, thinking about how to link the events to Ukraine. Everything he does is so predictable."
