Adding to the long list of mysterious deaths of Pakistan-based terrorists, it has been reported that a most wanted commander of United Jihad Council (UJC) was found dead in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman, the secretary general of UJC and self-styled emir of Tahreek-ul-Mujahideen (TuM) was killed mysteriously in Abbottabad, The Times of India quoted sources as saying. 

Who was Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman?

Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman hails from Pulwama and the Centre had designated him as a terrorist in October 2022 over his involvement in terrorist activties.

TuM, which was formed in 1990, was banned by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs in February 2019 after it was found to be involved in terrorist activities and supporting terror groups such as Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Rehman reportedly coordinated with Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI and was involved in multiple terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
