Canada's Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are likely to arrest two men suspected of gunning down Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia in the coming weeks, said a local report.

The suspected assailants did not leave Canada after the assassination and have been under police radar, according to The Globe and Mail. The outlet cited sources, saying the police might soon reveal further details regarding the suspects and the alleged involvement of India after booking them.

Nijjar, 45, was shot multiple times while leaving a Sikh temple on June 18, 2023. The Canadian Security Intelligence Service had reportedly alerted Nijjar about potential threats before his killing.

Following the G20 meeting, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged that Indian government was involved in the killing of Nijjar, who was designated a terrorist by New Delhi.
