Female students at Alzahra University in Tehran reportedly chanted 'get lost' slogans against Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi while he visited the University on Saturday.

The President condemned the ongoing nationwide protests triggered by the death of 22-year-old woman Mahsa Amini who allegedly died in the custody of Iran's morality police. Amini was arrested on September 13 by morality police for inappropriate attire.

Reuters reported that Raisi condemned protesters enraged by the death of Amini in custody during the visit. Addressing the students and professors at the University, Raisi recited a poem equating

'rioters' to flies."They imagine they can achieve their evil goals in universities, unbeknownst to them, our students and professors are alert and will not allow the enemy to realise their evil goals," Reuters reported quoting State television.

However, women students at the University reportedly chanted 'Raisi get lost' and 'Mullahs get lost' against the President. According to reports, Iranian authorities denied that 22-year-old Mahsa Amini died due to blows to the head and limbs while in police custody. Officials linked her death to pre-existing medical conditions, Reuters reported.

Her death has ignited widespread protests and women removed their veils in defiance of the clerical establishment. Protesters called for the downfall of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The Iranian government described the protests as a plot by Iran's enemies including the United States to destabilise the government.
