Russia Ukraine War Ukraine President Vladimir Zelenskyy

The comedy series starring Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy returns to Netflix for US streamers. The show, Servant of the People, has him portraying a school teacher becoming president after a rant of him complaining about corruption goes viral. The show, which premiered in 2015, ran for three seasons and ended in 2019-- the same year when Zelenskyy launched a campaign for presidential elections under a new party—Servant of the People. Zelenskyy won the elections by a landslide, with 73 per cent votes.

“You asked and it’s back,” Netflix tweeted on Wednesday. The leader, who has been solemn even in the face of a Russian invasion of his country, has become a household name of sorts with his messages to his countrymen during the war.

Zelenskyy, on Tuesday, made an appeal to the US for help. President Biden responded with an $800 million aid package that focuses on weapons that Ukraine has already been using against the Russian forces. It includes air defence systems urgently needed to defend cities from the overwhelming barrage of missiles being launched by Russian forces, a PTI report reads.
