The ‘NorCal Rapist’ Roy Charles Waller was sentenced to 897 years in a hearing on Friday in Sacramento. He was sentenced to a 459-year term, 438 years to life term for a 15-year crime spree in California during which he kidnapped and assaulted women.
Superior Court Judge James Arguelles called Waller “a serious danger to society”. In November, Waller was convicted of raping nine women in six different cities from 1991 to 2006. During the hearing on Friday, he was convicted of 46 charges, including 21 counts of rape and seven counts of kidnapping.
Waller, who is 60 now, would break into victims homes, bind them and sexually assault them repeatedly. Waller, would sometimes kidnap the women, take them to ATMs and rob them, or he would steal items from their homes.
Waller’s attorney Joseph Farina said he planned to appeal the decision. According to a report by The Daily Californian, Waller, at the time of his arrest, was working at the California university’s office of environment, health and safety as a safety specialist.

Nicole Earnest-Payte, Waller’s first victim in 1991 said, “He should experience the barbaric sense of time around him, knowing that this is his fate will set me free for good.”
The police, who have been tracking Waller’s cases, since 2006, have had DNA evidence linking six of the cases to the same suspect.
While no genetic material from these potential relatives was shared with law enforcement, but investigators constructed family trees, which led them to focus in on Waller.
