President Trump's daughter Ivanka has come under the spotlight. She was deposed on Tuesday over allegations that the president's inauguration committee misused donor funds.

As per a CNN report, Trump's oldest daughter, senior White House advisor was interviewed by attorneys from the Washington DC, attorney general's office.

The Washington DC attorney general's office has alleged that the committee made more than $1 million in improper payments to the president's Washington DC hotel. Also under the radar are first lady Melania Trump and Thomas Barrack Jr, a close friend of the president. Barrack Jr was deposed last month.

District of Columbia's Attorney General Karl Racine, who filed the lawsuit alleges that the committee has misused nonprofit funds and coordinating with the hotel's management and members of the Trump family to arrange the events, an AP report reads.

Racine says district law requires nonprofits to use their funds for their stated public purpose and not benefit private individuals or companies. Racine alleges the $1 million used for booking a ballroom at the Trump International Hotel in the capital city was a scheme to enrich the president's own family.

The committee raised $107 million to host events celebrating Trump's inauguration in January 2017.

Records of Rick Gates, deputy chairman of the inaugural committee show that the committee paid $175,000 per day to reserve space for the event for four days. Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, the committee's event-planner advised against the transaction and pointed out that the charges were at least twice the market rate.
