Manchester United could possibly replace Casemiro with another Real Madrid defensive midfielder in the summer, a new report says. It is talented French star Eduardo Camavinga that Los Blancos may consider selling to the English club, the report added.
Camavinga has been an absolute workhorse for Real Madrid, having operated in full-back and centre-back roles in their hour of need. He remained a mainstay under the regimes of Carlo Ancelotti and Xabi Alonso, and has been trusted by current gaffer Álvaro Arbeloa as well.
United's interest in Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, and Adam Wharton remains solid, but Camavinga—alongside Borussia Dortmund's Felix Nmecha—is also being tracked seriously by the club, TEAMtalk said in a report. Real Madrid will ask for no less than €75 million (£65.5 million) for their two-time Champions League winner.
Will Real Madrid sell Camavinga?
The 23-year-old's current contract runs until 2029, but Real have reportedly moved him out of the "indispensable" category due to his stunted development. He was expected to thrive in the absence of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Casemiro, but his progress has not met expectations, TEAMtalk quoted Spanish reports as claiming.
Interestingly, Manchester United had earlier scouted Camavinga during his time at Rennes. However, he chose Real instead, managing 208 appearances for the club to date. Apart from the two Champions League titles, he has also won a FIFA Club World Cup, a FIFA Intercontinental Cup, a Copa del Rey, and two La Liga titles with Real.
Camavinga has more than once confirmed that he is happy at Real Madrid, where he is joined by his international teammates Kylian Mbappé, Ferland Mendy, and Aurélien Tchouaméni. Camavinga, 23, has had a couple of injury-ravaged seasons, and his current focus is to ensure he remains match-fit with another FIFA World Cup fast approaching.

As for United, they cannot complain about the €75 million asking price, as none of the other stars on their wishlist would come significantly cheaper than that, given the age bracket they are focused on in the hope of building an intimidating squad for the next decade.
